Success Story from Narconon Arrowhead's Drug Rehab Program

Before I came to Narconon Arrowhead’s Drug Treatment Center, I was a lost, confused soul. I felt that nobody cared about me. My head was confused with crazy thoughts. I was underweight and malnourished. I had a boyfriend with whom I did drugs. I had low self-esteem and I was extremely depressed. Now, after six months, I have completed the drug rehab program here and I have never felt as good as I do now. I am healthy, confident, patient and no longer depressed. I have gotten rid of the bad people in my life such as my boyfriend and some of my friends. I have made new, wonderful friends here at drug rehab who I want always to be in touch with. I want to thank all of the staff for being supportive and patient. E.C.

Inpatient Alcohol Treatment Center

Inpatient Alcohol Treatment Center
Alcoholic Anonymous statistics show a retention rate of 5 – 7%. 12 step treatment options definitely work for some but not all by a long ways. Many shorter term inpatient alcohol treatment centers are based on 12 step methodologies and as such often suffer from the same low retention and success rates. Narconon Arrowhead is a long term inpatient alcohol treatment center that used the more effective but less traditional methods of education and empowerment. We do not treat alcoholism as an incurable disease that one is stuck with for life. Our success rates show that when the factors of cravings, guilt and depression are fully confronted and resolved that the need and desire for alcohol, or other substances for that matter, fades into the past as a motivating factor.

Heroin Drug and Addiction

Heroin Drug
Heroin is a highly addictive illegal drug. During the 1800’s opium addiction was a major problem in the U.S. Morphine was developed as supposedly a non-addictive substitute for opium but proved to be even more addictive. The same is true of Heroin which was a supposedly non addictive replacement for morphine, but again is actually more addictive than opium or morphine. In more modern times we know have methadone as a supposed ‘solution’ to heroin addiction. Methadone is even more addictive than heroin. If withdrawal from heroin can be gruesome and harrowing, then methadone is even worse and can be life- threatening if unsupervised.

Alcoholism and Addiction

Alcoholism
Alcoholism is an addiction to alcohol. Addiction is defined as a condition characterized by repeated and compulsive seeking and use of drugs, alcohol, or other substances despite adverse social, mental, and physical consequences. In severe alcoholism cessation of use can cause delirium tremens and be life threatening. Medical withdrawal is vital in these situations and needs to be evaluated by competent and informed medical professionals. Following a full withdrawal from alcohol use the alcoholic’s health and nutrition levels need to be monitored and a program to return them to a health nutritional balance is needed. Follow up with a full addiction program to address the cravings, guilt, and depression are vital to creating an alcohol free productive life for the individual.

Addiction Treatment and Addiction

Addiction Treatment
The decision to face the need for addiction treatment, whether it is for oneself or for one’s loved ones) is never an easy decision and one is often left with the ‘hope’ that the decision made was a good one. Long term treatment options have proven to be much more effective in preventing continual relapse that often occurs following the more short term addiction treatment options. Addiction treatment should also be an empowering experience, giving the addict the tools needed and putting them into a position to actually change the conditions of their lives and so be able to actually maintain a drug free and productive life. Narconon Arrowhead is a long term, non-traditional addiction treatment facility, routinely creating drug free productive lives for life!

Inpatient Drug Treatment Center and Addiction

Inpatient Drug Treatment Center
Narconon Arrowhead is a long term, non-traditional, inpatient drug treatment center. What this means is that alcoholics or addicts come and reside at Narconon Arrowhead for the duration of their treatment. This is a self-paced program and is governed by results rather than a set number of days in treatment. A good average is generally 90 -120 days. Non traditional refers to the fact that we do not treat addiction or alcoholism as incurable diseases. Addiction and alcoholism can be beaten for a lifetime, and without constant worry about relapse or reversion. We work on the assumption of the basic goodness of the individual and their desire to create a drug and alcohol free lifestyle. Our inpatient drug treatment center assists the individual to confront, and resolve all life situations needing addressed and so remove the need to run from them with drugs or alcohol.
